Certain topics such as ethics are the prefered ones for debates and also the ones that people believe they have the truth. In Savater’s words, moral reflection is an
essential part of education. There is where we, as teachers to be, need to consider what type of reflection we want for our students. We don’t teach ethics, we show values as this father does to his son, Amador.

This father- son relationship might be compared to anyone of any children with their parents. When analyzing the values given by the author such as: pay attention, patience and the effort of thinking step by step; we can consider them as starting points to think critically about our teaching.

Hi Yoha!
Do you feel the author might be talking about the relationship between teachers and students too? And if so, would the same steps apply?
Love you pink layout, and your photo!
Gladys
The author has not mentioned teacher-student relationship, now, if we consider parents and teachers as educators, we might consider the same steps for both. We should work toghether, teachers and parents, for geting our future generations to think critically.
To me, Savater's steps apply to all aspects of our lives.
Thanks for your reply, Yohi! I like that about "teachers and parents working together"... Got me thinking on what our chances for success are if we do not work on building solid bonds among us... but that's another cup of tea, I know! :-P
Let's keep reading and thinking together, shall we?
Love,
Gladys
